The Many Faces of T-Man

I have been feeling a little guilty lately because of the second child syndrome, you know, where you feel like the second child doesn't get enough attention or pictures. I probably do not have enough pictures of Tommy so I thought I would catch up a bit.

This is Tommy grabbing the lamp and this is the smile he always gives when I tell him, "No, No Tommy!"

"Hmmm, Am I naughty or nice?"
Nice, most of the time but he may have developed a few new nick names like, Master of Disaster and Destructo.

A Family Tradition

A few days ago we had the Fords and the Dotsons over for Fondue. Growing up, my family would have fondue every Christmas Eve as a family tradition. Since we stayed in Ohio for Christmas, I could not think of a better way to carry on the tradition then to celebrate it with friends.

My mom usually has all sorts of different kinds of meat with a variety of sauces when she cooks fondue but I stuck with just chocolate and cheese. It was still very delicious and we had fun watching Henry and Kassie play Charades.

P.S. Sorry Holly and Jeff. The picture I took of you guys was out of focus. Lee says I don't know how to use the camera but I say it's about time to replace it!!

Christmas Cheer and December Sunshine

I stole the laptop from Lee. I call the lap top his new best friend because it is what is keeping him sane this past week of staying in bed all day (poor guy). In case you don't know, Lee had Micro fracture surgery last Thursday and will be on crutches or crunchies according to Kassie for the next six weeks! Are we kicking ourselves for going ahead with the surgery? Yes, the recovery will be long and Lee still has interviews for residency next month but we are making things work. This is the only time he would be able to have the surgery without major scheduling conflicts in the near future.

Kassie is feeling much better. On Sunday she broke out in hives from what we think might have been the Augmentin but we're still not sure. Christmas Eve she was pretty ornery because she was so itchy. We weren't sure if Santa would make it to our house.

Tommy and his new pee wee tennis racquet (better start him young, thanks G and G). He probably had the most fun with the wrapping paper and boxes but that's to be expected of a ten month old.

Does Kass look cool or what, decked out in her Superman outfit?

Christmas morning was a lot of fun. Kassie has been super excited about the Santa thing and told me everyday last week that "we needed to get ready for Santa"! We put cookies and milk out by the front door per Kassie's request and dumped the "special reindeer food" on the front porch. In the morning there was the usual sounds of Christmas morning, ooohhhs, and ahhhs.

Kassie and Tommy were lucky enough to each get a Transformer from Santa but I think Lee was probably the most excited about them. As you can see he already transformed one and is about to work on the next one. I think Lee looks extra happy in this picture, do you think?

The weather was absolutely beautiful Christmas morning. The sun was shining and there wasn't any snow. Kassie and I went outside to try out her new bike (new to her at least). We need to do a lot of practicing. She told me that maybe she should try a tricycle instead.

The nativity

Because I just had knee surgery and am in the Continuous Passive Motion machine 8-10 hours a day I have been elected to Blog for the family. Enjoy.

Our family nativity was Kassie's idea, she found some tulle and decided she looked very much like Mary the mother of Jesus. So our quest began but where would we find a baby Jesus?
Mary found her baby Jesus and decided on a manger as well...

No nativity would be complete without the three wisemen...here we must acknowledge the dynamic acting talents of Bunny, Spiderman, and Moosie along with the other animals in the stable. Hey, Luke never says there were NOT any giant lady bugs...

This includes the Donkey, aka Mom, whose "hee-haw" was spot on.

Mary and Joseph posing after the wonderful event.

Merry Christmas...

The Posting Marathon

I'm on a roll. So here are a few random pictures.

Tommy flaps his arms at toys, people, or just things when he's super excited or really wants whatever it is.

"Should I eat it? Will it taste good?"
"Mom, how about we take a picture with me and Clifford in front of the tree."

The Two Munchies

Tommy: "Dora you are my precious little pet". Kassie: "my little teddy bear brother is the best to give hugs". (yeah right, give that thought about two seconds or until Tommy takes her toy and back to the dog house he goes)
Tommy: "Dora, if you do not do as you are told I will be forced to destroy you!!"
I would say this wasn't one of my most successful photo shoot of the kids.

Christmas Tree Decorating

Kassie and her proud self in front of the decorated Christmas tree.

The Snowman Named Superman

What does every kid want to do when it snows? They want to make a snowman of course. They not only want to make a snowman, they want to play in the snow until their little noses turn into icicles! (Luckliy Lee was home to brave the chilly weather and the bundleing of the munchkin!)
Kassie named her snowman Superman. Are you surprised?
Kassie also told me that we should never eat yellow snow.

Preschool Pictures

This is Kassie's group preschool picture. I cropped the other kids and teachers out but I'm sure you can imagine a group of kids sitting nicely. One of Kassie's teachers is standing next to her giving Kassie a hug. The teacher's smile is one of those, "Just take the picture already!!!!!!! She's not going to stop crying!!" Both Lee and I got a good laugh seeing our daughter crying her eyes out in her first preschool picture. Oh, the joys!!
This one turned out really cute. You know why? See that little lion Kassie's holding, well that's what did the trick. I asked Kassie why she was crying and she said, "I didn't want to get my picture taken because I didn't like the camera guy." Why? "He kept trying to make jokes."
Those must have been some pretty bad jokes!!!

Have you ever seen a white elephant?

For the past three years we have had a White Elephant Christmas Party at our house for the medical students in Lee's Year.

Emily and Ethan (with a fabulous picture of Scott who was in Mexico at the time) 'Yo soy un medico de los ojos'. That was our present from last year.

Eric got a really cool WWE calendar that he said he would hang up in their kitchen. Rachel was so lucky to get the do-rag from last year and the Santa candles from two years ago. Lee probably was the most thrilled out of everyone because he stole the Transformers calendar during the game. Kassie thought my pirate puzzle was pretty cool too.
Trevor and Raven stole the doggie toys (which will come in handy for them and no one else who came) and the light-up snowman.
Bryan and Annie promised to eat their s'mores while adoring the picture of Kenny that they received. Bryan said that he would make a special room in the house with 'eternal' candles burning all around Kenny's visage.
I looks like Meg got a giant diamond but it is actually a chocolate-mint fondue pot, J.R. was thrilled he could now read from two Musculoskeletal Medicine books, one for each side of his brain.
Here's the crew. The only one you can't see is Tommy. He's on my lap drinking his bottle. I think this picture turned out pretty darn good considering we didn't have a tripod and the kids were a little worn out by then.

JR, Is that an open mouth smile? I think it is.
