We're having a......

Stampin' Up Christmas Projects

I'm finally getting around to post some of my Christmas projects. The blocks were from Stampin' Up's Holiday Mini catalog. They came with vinyl lettering and I just added some Christmas paper to it. I made so many of the little boxes that I lost count. The boxes are a die cut from the Stampin' Up Big Shot. They turned out really cute.

First Snow

Why is it that kids love the snow so much? It doesn't matter if their hands and feet are frozen or their face is bright red, they still want more, more, more. These pictures are from when Kassie and Lee went sledding. Our neighborhood has a pretty awesome hill that's perfect for dedicated sledders like Kass. She loves it and can't get enough.

Tommy on the other hand is not a sledder. He's usually just fine in the front yard where he does the typical things a boy would do, like stomp, kick, throw, and eat snow.

Chirstmas

I love Christmas morning. It's always so much fun with the kids and how excited they are. Santa brought Kassie a baby doll and Tommy a work bench. Kassie really, really wanted a puppy for Christmas, in fact she always says she wants one. We compromised and bought her one that was as close as you can get to an actual real one. Hopefully that will hold her off for a while. Tommy also got a really obnoxious sword that's as big as him and makes loud noises. He likes to chase Kassie around with it.

For dinner we went to our friend's house and had STEAK. Ahhhh.....steak that's something we never have and wish we did!! Again, friends rescued me when I wasn't in the mood to cook a big dinner and invited us over even though they had family in town. Our kids had fun running around together and playing with their new toys.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was very low key this year! The kids made gingerbread houses and drank hot chocolate. I hate to admit this, but for dinner we had hot dogs. I know, terrible. We did have chocolate fondue with fruit and whipped cream which kind of made up for us just having hotdogs. The kids made a plate of cookies for Santa and luckily went to bed at a decent hour without any squabbles!

Kassie's Christmas Dance Recital

I wish I had a picture of Tommy sitting with Santa. Tommy still will not even look at the big man with a long white beard. He turns the other way and runs and if you try and take him over to Santa, he kicks and screams. I don't know what it is, but Tommy has a Santa phobia!

Look at my sweetie pie, I love my dancing princess so much.

Decorating for Christmas

Tommy decorated his head instead of the tree. " NACHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Tommy couldn't pause from his Kung Fu moves to pose for a picture.

Kassie on the other hand, can stop and say cheese anytime. She did most of the decorating.

Thanksgiving Dinner 2009

For Thanksgiving this year, we went to our friend's house the Baileys. They invited a big group over for a big pot luck dinner. I'm so glad they invited us because at the time, I just didn't feel up to making a big turkey dinner. They kids played games and made turkeys out of rice krispies and marshmallows. Their favorite game was definitely the one where they had to try and open the package with just a fork and knife. A few eyes may have come close to being poked with a fork but everyone went home both two working eyes.

Kassie's Thanksgiving Program

Each year around Thanksgiving, Kassie's preschool has a special program where they sing about what they're grateful for and how blessed they are. Afterwards, there is a big feast with all of the families to celebrate Thanksgiving. Kassie has always looked forward to it because she loves to sing and preform.
