A few other things...

We built a garden about two weeks ago. We have tomatoes, broccoli, corn, cantaloupe, and green beans. I hope we didn't plant the tomatoes too late and I think I planted the broccoli too close together. That's ok though, I am learning!

Katie (my expert gardening friend), are you proud of me, or what!!!

Tommy thought we should plant his own garden by digging in the plant box off of the deck.

Other news........

Kassie cut her hair!!!!! It was a pretty traumatic experience for us both. I was up stairs resting while Kassie was down stairs supposedly having quiet time when the incident occurred. She came up stairs with a chunk of her hair and said she had to cut her hair because it was getting in her face. I asked her how much she cut and then she pulled a LARGE hand full out of her pocket. As soon as I saw all the hair, I completely lost it. We both ended up crying our eyes out for a few minutes. Kassie was absolutely traumatized by the whole thing and had to take a nap after all the commotion. I then proceeded to clean up her beauty shop hair do by finding clumps of her curly hair throughout the house. Luckily, Kassie does have curly hair and you can't tell ,but needless to say, she is not allowed to use scissors for a long time!!!!!

Our New Zoo

I absolutely love the zoo here in Indianapolis! Yes, the Columbus zoo will always have a special place in my heart but we are excited to get to know the zoo here.

I forked over a dollar for a small piece of apple so Kassie could feed the giraffe. She thought it was very cool and worth every penny.

Petting the sharks was definitely the highlight of the entire trip. Kassie wanted to go back. It's not every day you get to pet a SHARK!!

Tommy was afraid of the goats for the first time. He wasn't too sure about about going near them. Here is his worried face!

Welcome to Indy

We are almost settled in to our new home but there are still a few boxes to unpack. I am still trying to figure out where I should put things and how to organize stuff. We love our new place and so far, Indy is turning out to be a great place.

Arizona Visitors

The week before graduation, Lee's family came to Ohio, to of course see Lee graduate but also see parts of Columbus. They were lucky enough to come at just right time when the humidity was at it's highest. Kassie talked for weeks about her eight year old cousin Abby coming to visit.
As you can see from the picture, Kassie is very interested in what Abby is doing. If you look close, Kassie has a head band and a few barrettes in her hair that Abby so willingly shared with her.

One of the places we visited was Kirtland, Ohio to see the church history sites. The visitor's center there is fabulous!! We watched a movie and then went on a tour. I don't have very many pictures of that day and I'm thinking it's probably because it was sooooooo hot!!! But here is Tommy at the restaurant we ate at on the way home. This is the "going out to eat" face we don't experience too often which I guess is a good thing because Tommy sure is a messy eater!

We also went to the Columbus Art Museum. Tommy was horrible that day. He did not think looking at art was a fun thing to do, so Lee and I took turns chasing him around making sure he didn't break anything. Kassie and Abby were exposed to a few interesting paintings. Kassie apparently said, "look at all those butts" about a painting with semi-clothed people and Abby got very upset at a piece with people dying. I had no idea Kassie said the word butt. Geez what is she learning at preschool? And what is she saying when I'm not around? Hah! There was a neat room where the kids and Brenda dressed up in vintage clothing.

You can't visit Ohio and not go to the Butterfly Conservatory in the summer!!

Lee's sister Jayne and her husband Evan

Lee's oldest sister Deb, her husband Bryan, and baby Marcus.

Before the family headed home, we went to the Columbus Arts Festival. Kassie was a little tired that day. (Sorry about the underwear shot.)
It is always a good thing to spend time with family and we are grateful they were able to come and visit.
