We Emerged

Yes, you did read that right, we did emerge from our long winter slumber about a week ago. It was only for ONE afternoon but we'll take it. When it's forty degrees out and you haven't seen the sun in months, it calls for some serious running around in the backyard like crazy people with cabin fever! It doesn't matter if the ground is super muddy and there are dishes to do, you HAVE to make the effort to go outside. So, that is what we did. The kids had a blast.

Here's what Tommy thought about being able to go outside!

Kassie thought it was just too bright outside, so she had to get her sunglasses!

It's going to snow another 6 inches tonight so we're gearing up for another "stay-in-your-house and-don't-go-anywhere-week"!

Finally, December Part II

I know Christmas seems like an eternity ago, but I had to post the last few pictures of Christmas morning. I'm just a little behind on the blogging thing.

December Recap Part I

The kids have been sick on and off for the past three weeks with a nasty cold, which is why I haven't posted and plus the lap top I usually use has been crashing on me. I finally took Tommy to the doctor on Tuesday and it turns out he has a sinus infections and two ear infections. Poor guy has felt so miserable. I casually mentioned to the doctor that Kassie was having trouble hearing and what do you know, Kassie has an ear infection too. So, we are on the mend with three days of antibiotics behind us. I don't think we're out of the woods just yet though. Kassie has a fever today and is taking a nap as we speak.
I should mention the kids weren't the only ones who were sick over Christmas. Lee got to spend his week off coughing all night for a week. The nurse at the hospital wrote him a prescription for a Z-pack so he is feeling better.
I was the lucky one this time around but I think it's because moms aren't aloud to get sick!!
Anyway, enough about being sick. Here are some pictures.

Christmas Morning

Poor Tommy! He just wasn't feeling well!

He did eventually perk up and open presents. (more pictures later.)

The only thing on Kassie's list was a Barbie Diamond Princess Castle.

Christmas Eve
Reindeer food for Rudolph.

For our one present we opened on Christmas Eve, we each received a robe from Lee's mom.

For Christmas Eve dinner, we went to our friend's the Hopkins. They shared with us their family traditions for Christmas Eve.
Puppet Nativity.Decorating cookies for Santa.

And a pinata

We shared my favorite family Christmas Eve tradition with the Hopkins by bringing cheese fondue.
