Do you love jewelry?

Kassie's latest fad is my old jewelry. She asks me every day if I love jewelry too. She doesn't have a favorite piece but she does seem a little partial to the pink ones. She did tell me the other day that she wants to be a princess when she grows up. I think all the "beautiful jewelry" as she describes it, has gone to her head.

Starting Solids

"Kassie, do you want to grab a spoon so you can help feed Tommy?"

"Ok, sure! Here you go."
"Is that spoon too big for Tommy's mouth?"
Giggle Giggle!!!

"Hey, this bib is pretty neat!"
"Wait a second, what's this???"

"I'm not too sure about this!"
"Getting better!"

"Not so bad!"
"Maybe I like that stuff!" "Ahh, feeling good!"

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I asked Kassie what she wanted to be when she grows up and her answer was, "a mermaid with a pink tail". For a long time she would always say a bird but I guess she's moving on to bigger and better things.

I asked Tommy what he wanted to be and he just smiled and ate his hand.

Slate Run Historical Farm

Meg and Kassie checking out the goslings.
Pumping water for the garden
Humm, is she thirsty? We must be cutting back on her liquids because of potty training.

"Hey, guys wait for me!"

Daddy Lee

This morning when Kassie woke up I told her it was Father's Day. Her face lit up and she asked if we were going to have a party for daddy. I said sure so she ran and gave him a hug and told him "Happy Father's Day". Today in nursery Kassie made Lee a special tie card and told her leaders that her dad's favorite color was pink. Don't worry Lee's favorite color isn't pink. We think she said that because pink is her favorite color. She's such a daddy's girl and probably thinks his favorite color is the same as hers.
Tonight we are having Lee's favorite food, Panda Express Orange Chicken.

Father's Day

In honor of Father's Day here's a tribute to my dad!
Five things I love about my dad

1. He always came to all of my tennis matches.

2. He's the "grill master" You name it and he can grill it. Boy, do I miss his salmon.

3. He always says "I love you!"

4. He LOVES being a Grandpa, and is a darn good one.

5. He taught me that I can do anything I set my mine to.

Two Munchkins

Kassie and Tommy are becoming the best of friends. She loves to make him laugh by getting really close to his face and saying, "Tommy, TALK!". He is definitely entertained by her running around and causing mischief.

The dress Kassie has on is her absolute favorite! She calls it her Sleeping Beauty dress and she has to have her butterfly sandals that are two sizes too big for her to go with it. (The sandals have "jewels" on them, that is why she likes them so much.) She loves to play dress up and often wears multiple outfits throughout the day. Oh, and she is really into jewelry. I pulled out a few of my necklaces, bracelets, and rings that she could play with. Kassie said they were so "beautiful".

On Monday Kassie told me she did not want to wear diapers anymore!! You know you have officially entered the world of potty training when you have all the bathrooms mapped out in the stores. No turning back now! She is doing incredibly well and we are soooooo proud of her. This potty training thing has been a definite confidence booster for her. Knock on wood though, because you never know what might happen two weeks down the road, right?

Tommy and Lee, (not to be confused with the Motley Crue drummer)

Aren't these the cutest pictures of Tommy??

Inniswood

One thing I love about Ohio is the Metro Parks. Here's a few pictures of our visit to Inniswood Park.

Strawberry Picking

Ellie and Kassie are saying cheese for the camera just in case you were wondering.

Kassie thought strawberry picking was pretty exciting this year, as opposed to last year when all she wanted to do was follow a grasshopper she found. This time she figured out that if you pick them you can eat them and they taste really good. She ate more strawberries than I can count and had more on her face and sweater than I care to admit. While we were paying for our 6 lbs.(yes, I know that sounds like a lot but they're only $1.23 a lb and they're oh sooooo good) of berries, a few people made the comment of " Oh, I think someone ate a few strawberries today". Well, what did they expect from a 2 1/2 year old, right!

Tommy Meets Creed

We enjoyed having friends over for dinner. Tommy and Creed are just one month apart. Here they are smiling for their first picture together. My favorite part is the lovely floral couch background. It really does the picture justice.

Good Morning

I know some day Kassie won't be too happy with me posting these pictures of her but I couldn't resist. She just woke up and had no problems smiling for the camera. If you thought her hair was messy before, you thought wrong.

Farewell

We had our friends over for dinner to say goodbye without saying goodbye. If that makes sense. They are moving next week. I hope this isn't the last time our girls get to play dress up with each other. They always just let the good times roll.
Kassie is a fairy princess and Grace is the bride.
Kevin made Tommy laugh the hardest he's ever laughed.

Avery Fountains

This week were able to go Avery Fountains twice. I think it's one of Kassie's favorite places to runandjumpandplay. (She says it like it's one word.) The water isn't the warmest but on a hot day it's perfect. It took Kassie a few minutes to feel brave and venture out, so she wanted me to hold her hand and walk around.

But pretty soon this is what she was doing!
I love this picture of her.
Tommy did eventually wake up and was able to experience the water on his little toes. He didn't think it was that great.
