Tommy Turned Two

Tommy turned two on Monday and I have to admit, I'm not as anxious for him to grow up like I was with Kassie. Tommy loved opening his presents! It wasn't what was inside that excited him, it was the ripping and tearing.

A week before his birthday, I asked Tommy what kind of cake he wanted and he requested a "car cake". I think he was inspired by the car cake at the Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet we attended. So, I did my best to come up with a car cake.
Tommy
  • He has really cute chubby cheeks.
  • He likes to make people laugh.

  • He loves his pass, blankie, and milk.
  • He wants to run around naked and yell, "I'm a naked!!"
  • He enjoys the "No David" books.
  • He hits when he's mad.
  • He is really good at saying sorry.

  • He likes to run and jump.
  • He is very affectionate.
  • He loves to throw, kick, bounce, dribble and hit balls.
  • He wants to do exactly what Kassie does.
  • He like the songs, "The Boys Are Back" and "Baby, Bye, Bye, Bye"
  • He makes funny expressions when he talks.
  • He talks a lot.
  • He likes to torment his sister he calls Kass.
  • He is a good boy.

Valentine's Day Weekend

We started off our Valentine's weekend with a trip to the Pediatrician's office for Tommy's 2 year check up. Then we headed to the Children's Museum to check out the new Lego exhibit.

The carousel is one of the kid's favorites. We rode it twice before we were seeing stars.

Kassie met a new friend while building a turtle cage for herself.

Tommy wanted to be a baby bird. Here he is up in the tree house nest.
Tommy didn't make it home before he fell asleep with Cheetos on his hands and mouth.

On Saturday, I took Kassie to our first Primary Activity at church. It was awesome! When the kids arrived, the played Valentine Bingo and then broke off into groups. Each family of kids got to decorate a heart shaped cake with all of the sprinkles and frosting they could want and then decorate a pizza box to take their cake home in.

Kassie also had a Valentine's Party with her mom's-group preschool where they learned the ingredients of LOVE.

Saturday night, Lee and I went out on a DATE to celebrate Valentine's Day!! We went to dinner and then went shopping.
We need to go out together more often!!

Attack of the T-Man!

"Where's Kassie?"Not quite.
Oops!

You found her!

Kassie Went Ice Skating

Kassie loves to pretend to ice skate in our kitchen. She wears her pink slippers and slides around the floor pretending she's the next Kristi Yamaguchi. So, it was only natural to take her to a real ice skating rink! She chose her outfit which was a sparkly pink skirt with some serious twirling ability and her Superman warm up suit to go underneath!!

11 inches + 4 more

I know, I know, another blog post about the weather! Really, it's been so crazy here in Indy because of the amount of snow we've been getting! From what I hear, usually it snows only a few inches at a time and melts the next day. Well, that wasn't the case last week when we were hit with 11 inches.

I am laughing at myself because I see how silly Kassie looks with trash bags taped to her skinny little legs. Why did I do that? I thought it would help with keeping her legs dry and it did, but as Lee would say, "ghetto"!! Yes, I need to buy some new snow bibs for Kassie and a pair of non pink gloves for Tommy!!

These next pictures are of the 4 inches that came a few days later while I was driving Kassie to preschool. I definitely have expanded my driving capabilities within these last few months!!

The driveway took over an hour to shovel and let me tell you, snow is HEAVY!
