A 1,000 pounds

The day after Samantha was born, I told Lee that we needed to have one more baby.  He basically thought I was delirious and was suffering from lack of sleep!  As time went on and Samantha grew I still thought we should have one more.  I know, I was crazy!  Samantha was a terrible sleeper and third year of residency was by far the hardest but I wanted to what was right.  I wanted to follow the prompting I had.
So, here I am pregnant with number four!  Swollen, puffy, large with child, cooked, done, ready, you name it!  The name of the post comes from Tommy.  I heard him say to Lee, "Dad, mom's tummy looks like it weighs a 1,000 pounds."  I had to laugh because it does look and feel like it's a 1,000 pounds!  At 27 weeks I told the OB I felt this baby was really big.  Sure enough, I was measuring 3 weeks ahead!  Other than feeling huge, having people stare at my belly, and the faces people have made when I tell them I'm not due until December, there are some perks of measuring ahead/having a huge mammoth baby and that is the 3D ultra sounds.  (They wanted to keep an eye on him and monitor his growth.) I have enjoyed watching him grow!  His face is adorable.  I am grateful everything has been ok with this little, I mean big guy.

Halloween

Great Wolf Lodge

By nature, Lee and I aren't travelers.  Well, not yet anyway.  We're not ones to spontaneously pack up and take a trip.  Maybe it's because when Lee has time off, he's rather be home, or maybe it's because I don't like the repercussions of non-sleeping kids.  I will say that we do talk about traveling more...just taking a chance and doing it.
This time the kids were in luck.  We did feel spontaneous and we traveled ALL the way to Cincinnati, Ohio to Great Wolf Lodge.  Great Wolf Lodge is an indoor water park equipped with all sorts of slides, a wave pool, lazy river, arcade, and places to eat.  The best part in my opinion was the wrist bands.  These wrist band were amazing because it was your room key, and credit card all in one.  All I had to do was swipe my wrist band and it was charged to my room.  I didn't have to worry about carry around my purse.  The kids on the other hand loved the wave pool which ended up being their favorite thing.  There was one more cool thing about Great Wolf, the Magic Quest.  It was very Harry Potter-esque.  Kassie and Tommy each had a wand which you had to pay extra for and they went on a scavenger hunt throughout the hotel finding clues using their wands.  To me it was way too much money and we'd probably skip it next time.  We returned home unscathed by our travel experience and will most likely go back.  AND maybe take another "trip" in the future.

Kassie's Baptism

Kassie's baptism was quite and calm and spiritual. She was the only one who was baptized that day which made it very personal. (Usually there are multiple kids on the same day) Her cousin Amelia was so brave and gave a talk on Baptism. Lee's mom gave a touching talk on the Holy Ghost. Everything went really well and it was nice to have family in town for her special day. The only thing I forgot, was to ask someone to lead the music.
While family was here, the weather was PERFECT!  We went to Beasley's Harvest Festival.  The kids jumped in the bounce houses and took a hay ride to the pumpkin patch where they each picked out a pumpkin to take home.
We also went to Holiday Park which is an amazing park with trails, a nature center, and awesome playgrounds.  Oh, and we went downtown to MassAve Toys too!
I waited for family to make a cake for Kass. It was a strawberry cake with butter cream frosting. Soo good and so not healthy!

I forgot to mention Kassie got a fish for her birthday! Seriously! This fish was a huge hit! Kass was so excited to have a "pet"!
Samantha loved her "burrido". I love this picture! Tommy has the best smile!

Kassie's Owl Party

We had a hard time deciding what theme we should use for Kassie's 8th birthday party. We had to make it a good one since this was her "friend year". She likes Pokemon but LOVES animals so we went with an owl theme.
We had pizza right when the guests arrived and then opened presents.  We called Samantha "Swiper" while Kassie opened her presents because she swiped the goods as soon as Kassie put them down.
Lee made an in depth scavenger hunt that needed to be done outside but unfortunately it was raining, so he quickly changed it for inside.  The scavenger hunt lead them to the garage where they found owl pellets to dissect.  Most of them thought it was pretty cool and were super excited about it.  There were a few that didn't think all the fur and bones was something they wanted to dive into.
