COSI

Today's adventure was a trip to COSI with our friends Cathy and Nathan. COSI is a hands on science center for all ages. I couldn't get a good picture of Kassie. She was having way too much fun to stop and say cheese for a picture.

Yes, she's sporting new yellow Crocs thanks to her friend Ellie.

Shhh Quiet

These are the amazing pages of the quiet book I'm working on. The pictures really don't do it justice because you can't see all the little pieces that come off and on. I just finished binding them together with stiff felt in between and bias tape around the edges. I joined a group where I had to make 18 pages of one thing and then I would get 18 different pages back. My page is the red, black, and white tic-tac-toe. I still need to make a cover and put in the grommets along the side to make it like a three ringed binder.

Party Time

Here is Kassie all ready to go to the Cinco De Mayo party at church. Kassie told me she wanted to dress up like a princess for the party. It was not an easy task for the Princess to walk in those sparkly blue shoes. Kassie entered the party at a very slow pace but showed great poise. "Mom, I want to whack that thing!"
Notice the shoes came off for this activity!!

Baby Blue

Little T-man is such a happy smiley baby. His whole face lights up when he smiles and loves when you talk to him. He is definitely a mover, always kicking his legs and flapping his arms.

Simple Solutions

Pretty in Pink Striking a Pose

It's amazing what a little conditioner can do along with a pair of scissors!!

I may have cut off a tad bit more of Kassie's unruly do than I wanted to, but I think it turned out very cute!
P.S. It was not the easiest thing to accomplish but nothing like popping in a Veggie Tale movie to help a 2 year old sit still!
Switch
Yeah, what the doctor said to do about bedtime hasn't exactly worked for these two munchkins (not now anyway). So, our simple solution was to put Kassie to bed at 7 (without a nap) and then put Tommy down around 9 once she's asleep. Things are going ok so far.

Sleep, what's that?

Tommy had his 2 month checkup yesterday and everything "looks good" as Dr. Matt our pediatrician would say. We mainly talked about the sleep situation (only having one bedroom for the kids and getting Tommy to go to sleep before 10 p.m.). My first question was, how do you get a 2 month old to go to bed at a decent time? Dr. Matt's response was, they will do it...when their parents teach them how. He suggested we put Tommy down at 7 and if he cries, let him cry for 5 min and then intervene. Then repeat the process every 5 min until he is asleep. As for only having one room for the kids, he said to put Kassie down later and she will eventually get used to it and be fine. I left feeling hopeful and determined about putting him in with Kassie.
Well, the first night of putting the doctor's advice into action wasn't so bad, both were asleep around 9:30 p.m. The second night, I had to put Tommy in the bassinet. Kassie just would not go to sleep and kept waking up the baby! It was after 10 when she finally gave up.
Tonight I'm still going to give it a try. However, I do have a few things I'll do differently. First, no nap for Kassie which I hate to do because around 5 o'clock she won't be so pleasant! Second, try and keep Tommy awake in the evening. We'll see how it goes. The doctor made it sound so easy!!
