Snow White and the Little Dwarf/Puppy

Don't worry! Kassie didn't try and touch me with her hands.
I'm glad Kassie still likes to dress up in the middle of all this Super Hero craziness.
Tommy loves to make a puppy face by sticking out his tongue.
It feels good to post some pictures. Every time I log in, I would see Tommy's swollen face and remember how sorry I felt for the poor guy! Well, we are without hives and we are done with interviews!!! Yeah!!! Oh, and one more week with crutches! Pretty cool!

We have been hanging out at home, watching movies, finger painting, dancing (Kassie isn't the only one that likes to dance. Tommy sure can bust a move!), and trying to stay warm!!

Attack of the Hives

You may think that this post is about crazed African Bees, but you would be wrong, it is also not about the music group. Here is a picture of Tommy last night (1/15), he was happy... recovering from an ear infection treated with amoxicillin--you may notice some small red blotches on his right forehead (nothing a little base can't cover).

Here is a "before" picture:

Another picture from last night:

Now the after pictures: (Kassie said he looked like he was wearing a mask)

His face may have been too swollen to smile....

His eyes were almost swollen shut:

I did call the nurse because his skin looked black and blue after his nap. I was a little worried!! Of course they said to bring him in. They looked him over and the doctor said he was fine and that hives can become a bruise-like color. I wish the nurse would have just told me over the phone so we didn't have to make the fourth trip to the doctor in two weeks. Needless to say we had a stressful day making sure Tommy was not having trouble breathing and giving him benadryl every 6 hours.

The final diagnosis........

Penicillin allergy, so now we are two for two with both kids allergic to that ever useful antibiotic.

New Decorations

While the kids and I were in Arizona, my mother-in-law's friend took our pictures (you can check out her website here http://www.aleidawakefield.com/). These are a few of the finished projects. They are a 10 x 10 board of each of us. They turned out so amazing and I am very excited about them. Now the question is where I'm going to hang them.

Free Pizza and Free Ice skating

On Saturday, the OSU Medical College had a family night at the ice skating rink. Luckily everyone was feeling better so we could eat free pizza. Kassie often practices ice skating on the tile at home, so it was good for her to experience the real thing. She discovered ice skating isn't as easy as it looks, or maybe that was me since the last time I went ice skating was probably in high school.

We are alive

but barely. Everyone except me (keep your fingers crossed) has been sick with the stomach bug. I will spare y0u all the details but needless to say, it hasn't been the best week.
On a lighter note, here are a few of our recent happenings.
We traveled to Dayton, Ohio and Royal Oak, Michigan for interviews. Boy, that was quite the experience! We spent two nights in two different hotels and I think I got a total of 7 hours of sleep. The first reason was Tommy and the second reason was the person next door who snored like a really big bear. (no offense to those of you who snore)
Tommy fell down the stairs. It was only a THUD, THUD, and then crying. No visible damage.
We had spring like weather for a few days.
Lee has only 3 more weeks of crutches. (cross your fingers again)
