Ice Storm 2011

It has been a week to remember! It all began Monday, Jan. 28th with freezing rain. The rain continued into the next day leaving 2 inches of ice on the ground. School was cancelled Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The kids and I did not venture out in the mess. Ice is horrible. I'd pick 12 inches of snow over 2 inches of ice. Snow you can shovel, ice you need a sledge hammer. While being cooped up in the house, the kids were really sick. All three of them had ear infections, a cough and the stomach bug. We spent a lot time on the couch watching movies and doing nothing. Tommy poor guy, has had it the worst and he still isn't feeling well. Lee's the only one that has escaped the wrath of these illnesses!
My wish is for spring to come early this year. It's not too much to ask for right!? I think I've had it up to here with being cooped up and cleaning up throw up, snot, and other nasty stuff!
I'm looking forward to a new week and the ice melting!

Sorry for all the yucky sickness and ice! At least there they are prepared for it...everything shut down here including freeways because of the "snow" and ice we had. Nothing compared to you guys! Hope it is a better week too:).

okay, the kid in me thinks that looks really fun.

The mom in me screams "I need sanity!

We didn't get a whole lot of ice here but I can imagine it to be terrifying. We have huge hills so snow or ice + lousy plowing is scary scary scary! I hope you are all feeling better. A similar thing with the bug in the salad happened to me this last summer with lettuce from the garden. I know how you feel! Yuck! little Samatha is darling!
